MUNTLY U14S BEAT DEESIDE 29-4 ON SUNDAY AT BANCHORY IN THE WIND AND RAIN |
Tue 3rd Oct 2017 |
After early even play, Muntly opened the scoring. George Lunn’s tap penalty and pass saw Tom Letch beat defenders and score.
Muntly pressured the Deeside lineout all afternoon. Lawson’s pestering gave Deeside poor ball and they were pushed back to their try line.
A scuffed clearance kick allowed Jai O’Brien to pick up and score. Charlie Anderson led the Muntly charge and the pressure was relentless. Lunn took advantage of quick ball from his forwards to take on the Deeside backs.
A sweet offload created the space Letch needed for his second. O’brien’s miss pass gave Mylo McBain room for a jinky run to the try line.
The restart was taken by Lewis Hay on the wing, who fed Euan May. May still had lots to do but he bolted through the staggered Deeside defence to finish the first half.
Quick Muntly hands saw Fraser Whitecross feed the ball to Letch for his hat trick.
Scott Riach’s hooking was winning most of the scrums by this stage.
Another kick was scooped up by McBain, who fed Innes Parkin and he rounded the Deeside wing for try number 7.
Deeside scored a late consolation, although the centre perhaps should have been stopped.
The last try came from Muntly. Deeside kicked down the middle. Letch headed towards the posts and Anderson continued the charge. May’s support meant he was the one to beat the last Deeside defender.
Muntly U14: Tom Letch(C), Jai O’Brien, Arran Lawson, George Lunn, Lewis Hay, Roddy Manson, Fraser Whitecross, Ethan Mair, Charlie Anderson, Scott Riach, Euan May, Innes Parkin, Mylo McBain
