MORAY U18 64 V 0 GRANGEMOUTH STAGS |
Tue 9th Mar 2010 |
National U18 Bowl Competition - Saturday 6th March 2010
It was hard to believe that the ground was so hard with frost only two days previously, as the sun was shining and conditions were ideal for rugby. Grangemouth made the long journey to Morriston, but met a home side who started the game very well, putting pressure on the visitors right from the whistle.
Moray kept the team shape well, mixing the contact situations and offloading particularly well. There were several sweeping moves from side to side, which left open gaps in the defence and combined with good handling and strong running from both forwards and backs, led to a total of ten tries in the match.
This was a good performance all round with very valuable game time. With the Young Stags Tour only a few weeks away, there should be time to keep working on the skills shown today.
The next round sees another long journey for a visiting team to Morriston, with Dalziel from near Glasgow due for the weekend of 13th/14th March.
