Moray U18 v Ross Sutherland Sat 26th September 2009
Over the last two weeks, Moray U18s have continued their Caledonian League campaign with two home games, the first against Ross Sutherland on the 26th September.
A very strong performance in the forwards took the game to Ross right from the start, dominating in the set piece, combining well with straight running from the backs to set up a comfortable win in the end.
Ross were well organised and did come back at Moray during the game, but Moray did very well to keep them off the score sheet. Scoring eight tries meant a very welcome bonus point for the League.
Final result: Moray 48 v Ross Sutherland 0 Moray U18 v Orkney Saturday 3rd October 2009
Following the previous weeks bonus point win, Moray went in to the home game against Orkney knowing that another bonus point win would put them to the top of their League.
Once again, a bright but windy day allowed for some very good rugby to be played by both sides at Morriston, but it was the home side who quickly established dominance going forward putting pressure on the Orkney defence.
The Orkney side were the most physical side in the contact area this season, but the Moray players responded well, rucking well, offloading and combining with the backs to score some very good tries.
Orkney stuck to the task and strong running from two of their backs was rewarded with three scores. However, Moray had already stretched the lead with eight tries of their own.
Final result: Moray U18 50 v Orkney 15
