JOINT TRAINING REPORT - HUNTLY AT MORRISTON, 24TH OCT 2010  by Phil Kelly / Emma Dobbs / Nigel Tiddy
Tue 26th Oct 2010
This was the first time, we have hosted such an event, and it proved to be a great success! 'An excellent mornings training with Huntly minis and micros. The weather was kind to us and it was great to see the Moray and Huntly players working hard at all the drills together.

In the Micro group, “both teams got on very well and, I hope, all had fun. I couldn't single out an individual player for they all played with great enthusiasm! Our more experienced players are brilliant at leading the way and supporting our newer players who are really starting to get to grips with the game of tag rugby.” – Emma Dobbs

By the end of the training session, Moray P4/5 players were who had distinguished themselves, were:

Iain Stuart, for his commitment to tackling and ball carrying
Isobel Couttie, for her developing leadership ability, and her continuing improvement in form.
Ewan Allan, for his sportsmanship and commitment & being willing to play for Huntly B Team!
Cailean Fraser, for his tackling and running with the ball.

Your efforts were noted – keep up the good work!

“ The P6/7 Huntly players were introduced to the joys of using the tyres by Tony and everyone produced excellent ball handling skills during the running drills. The games at the end showed the players building on what they had learnt with some great positive running and the occasional passing of the ball to use the width of the pitch.

After the training we were treated to a fantastic array of soup, sandwiches and cakes. Many thanks to Angela Thomson who produced huge quantities of delicious soup and sandwiches with apparent ease and to the army of helpers in the kitchen. The home bakes were also outstanding so many thanks to those who brought the cakes!! The Huntly coaches were most impressed and asked me to pass on their thanks also.” – Nigel Tiddy

Special thanks must go to;

• all the players and coaches who made the joint event a success
• all of the ladies who helped with the catering on the day
• Huntly for coming, training and competing in a sportsman like manner
