A FLYING VISIT FROM OVER THE POND |
Tue 8th Jun 2010 |
Moray Rugby Club was delighted to welcome back John Datka and his wife Teresa this weekend during their whistle-stop tour of the UK.
The Club's former Vice-Captain, spent two successful seasons with Moray between 2006 and 2008 as a dynamic second-row forward before returning home to the US Navy in Texas. The charismatic American pilot managed to catch-up with old friends at the clubhouse during the players' end of season BBQ on Saturday afternoon, sharing a few beers, burgers and rugby stories. John and his family will be returning to America later this week after what John described as "A fantastic holiday in Moray. The kids were given the choice of either Disney Land or returning to Scotland for our summer vacation, and the decision was unanimous! We spent almost three years living in Elgin and as soon as we arrived back it felt like being home from home." John retires from the US Navy later this year and Moray Rugby Club would like to wish him all the best for the future and hope to see him and the family back again soon.
