MORAY 2ND XV 13 INVERNESS CRAIG DUNAIN 47 |
Wed 30th Aug 2017 |
This season, Moray have entered a 2nd XV into the BT Caledonia League Division 3 North. This is the first time in around 15 years that the club have been able to field a 2nd team in any league.
On Saturday, they welcomed an experienced Inverness Craig Dunain to Morriston where after a spirited performance for the first 60 minutes, they leaked a number of late tries as they tired, to eventually lose by 47 points to 13.
The home try scorer was wing-forward Steven Reid and two penalties and a conversion were kicked by inside-centre Richard Lewis.
Captain Matthew Lackie was proud of his side’s efforts which included five new starts and without doubt, they will get better the more they are able to play together.
This Saturday, Moray 2nd XV are also on the road on league business when they make the trip to Fraserburgh.
