PATHWAY BECKONS FOR MORAYS’ PROMISING PLAYERS |
Mon 10th Mar 2014 |
Every season Moray puts forward some if it’s most promising players into the SRU pathway programme
This is the scheme the SRU runs to identify and nurture talent for the future. Previous players from Moray who have been part of the program and gone onto enjoy success at higher levels of the game include Lee Millar, Cameron Hughes and Trevor Jones.
This season u18 captain Will Davidson has been part of the Caledonia squad and made it all the way to the final draft selection before narrowly missing out on a place in the squad. Will has shown exceptional determination and commitment, coming back from a serious knee injury and travelling regularly to Stirling for squad sessions.
U16’s involved are Dean Rodger and Duncan Martin and they are still attending training camps throughout the season.
At U15 Marcus Dobson and Ruaridh Gunn are nominated and will be involved in the Easter Key national theme camps along with our u14’s - Gregor Alexander, George Hurst, Rory Millar and Murdo Cameron, who are entering the process for the first time.
They will be attending training sessions in Inverness to assess and develop skills based around the Key National themes of Hand catch, Ball presentation, Offload and tackle
We wish all our players who are involved in the [pathway program the best of luck and recognise the support they get from parents, coaches and team mates that has helped them achieve their success to date.
