ABERDEEN WANDERERS JOINT TRAINING REPORT – 12TH FEBRUARY 2012 by Phil Kelly |
Wed 15th Feb 2012 |
With Moray Junior sides playing representative home & away, Mini's were also on their travels.
France v Ireland might have been cancelled the previous night, but thanks to Ray Hall at Aberdeen Wanderers our first training session at Groats Road, with Wanderers & the Grammar School went ahead.
Despite several last minute player sickness reports, we set off on our way with our new MRFC coach signs from Designed Signs, and made our way to the Granite City with the guys, in milder temperatures & a bright day. This was their reward for getting up so early.
On arriving at Wanderers home pitch, players split into their age groups, and after warm up/training went into round robin matches.
P4/5 had 3 matches each, and Moray players showed good commitment, while P6/7 split into six teams and played matches too.
All players seemed to enjoy the run out, despite the temperature appearing to drop during the morning?
Wanderers hosted lunch which warmed everyone up.
We'll see Wanders again at Huntly for our joint training session then.
Wanderers & the Grammar school were invited to play at our festival in April, so we hope to see them then.
It wouldn't be rugby if we didn't come away with a few knocks & bruises, wishing a speedy recovery to Isobel, and well done to Cailean Fraser for playing on with am injured finger!
Once again, many thanks to 'last minute replacement driver Gordon' & Maynes Coaches, for their transportation.
