NATIONAL U18 BOWL - MORAY U18 37-15 ANGUS COLTS
Tue 16th Feb 2010
On Saturday 13th February, Moray U18s finally got back on the pitch after the long spell of weather to host Angus Colts in the next round of the National Bowl Competition.

In what turned out to be very good conditions for rugby, it was the Moray side who started the game with more energy taking the game to the opposition right from the off. The forwards drove well with good off-loading skills and excellent rucking throughout, to set the visitors on the back foot and allow the back line to come on to the ball.

Morays looked dangerous with ball in hand throughout the game and were able to set up and score 5 good tries, as well as two converted penalties. The scrum became a bit of a lottery and Moray will need to tighten up the discipline in the scrimmage to keep improving in that area.

The visitors did come back at Moray scoring a well worked try of their own and with two missed touch kicks from Moray not being chased at all well, allowed the Angus Colts to score twice more – two soft tries to give away.

However, this was a good performance from the Moray side, strong running, offloads, contact skills and better composure to finish the moves and was a well deserved victory.

The next round is this coming Saturday, 20th February, and sees Grangemouth make the journey to Morriston.

If Moray can continue to work hard and improve yet again from last weekend, they will be hoping to keep this run in the competition going.
