LOCAL FIRM GIVES MORAY RUGBY CLUB “LEANER, MEANER” NEW LOOK |
Thu 20th Aug 2009 |
Elgin-based whisky specialists Gordon & MacPhail have been confirmed as official kit sponsors of Moray Rugby Club, providing the local team with a more modern and professional on-pitch look.
The team will debut their new kits when playing their first game of the Scottish Hydro Caledonia Two North West Division, against Lochaber, in Banavie on 5 September.
The new kits will feature Gordon & MacPhail’s distinctive stag’s head logo on the front of the shirt and on the back of players’ shorts.
After topping the league in the 2008/2009 season, the team are now hoping to win promotion to Caledonian Division One.
Manager, Craig Forster, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the new kits – we had the last shirts for a few years and the new ones are much more professional and modern. We lost out on a few tries last season because the opposition were able to grab onto our baggy shirts – now that we’re leaner and meaner we’re hoping to have another go at moving up to the next division.”
David and Michael Urquhart, Joint Managing Directors, Gordon & MacPhail, said: “Moray has been home to our family business for more than 100 years – as a local company, we are proud and honoured to be able to help MRFC continue to fly the flag for Moray on the rugby pitch.”
